Obsidian Entertainment is looking for a Combat Designer with proven experience developing first-person melee combat gameplay to join our team of talented developers.
The studio described it as a 'world-class RPG' made in Unreal Engine 4 (just like The Outer Worlds), but the most interesting tidbits are arguably the multiplayer (Obsidian is looking for a Network Programmer and even the Gameplay Programmer position has 'multiplayer game development experience' listed as a plus) and the focus on first-person melee combat for the position of Combat Designer. Last week they posted eleven job ads on LinkedIn, which provide a picture of what kind of game it will be.

In total, the game's been in development for two years and seven months, which means Obsidian's been working on it since before it was acquired by Microsoft.

Avowed supposedly is already in full production with around 100 people on the project and Obsidian bringing more on. The leak even has details on it's development status. The latter detail claiming that Avowed is based in the same world as Pillars of Eternity has been confirmed. Or how Obsidian will ensure that the game is filled with lore, landmarks, creatures, and more from the Pillars of Eternity games in the world of Eora.
The leak says that Obsidian wants every character in the game to be killable like the Elder Scrolls franchise used to allow.

Other details include mod support, a large number of factions, companions to carry into battle, a story set amid a war against Tyranny, huge bosses and the presence of Gods, two large cities, Pillars of Eternity creatures, in-depth dialogue, and a release window of late 2022/early 2023. That leak indicated that Avowed will be bigger than Skyrim, have a more reactive world, and include a real-time weather system.
